As Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) prepare for the IPL 2026 final on Sunday, Bengaluru City Police have issued a comprehensive public advisory urging fans to celebrate responsibly and avoid activities that could disrupt public order.

The advisory comes in the backdrop of last year's tragic stampede outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium during RCB's title celebrations, which claimed 11 lives and raised serious concerns about crowd management and public safety.

Key Restrictions Announced

Police have directed citizens not to organize public celebrations immediately after the final result is declared. Authorities have also prohibited the installation of LED screens facing public roads without prior approval from the relevant departments.

Live screenings of the match outside malls, pubs, restaurants, and other establishments have also been restricted if they are visible to the general public and could attract large crowds.

In addition, the use of firecrackers, hazardous materials, and other potentially dangerous celebration methods has been banned.

Crackdown on Traffic Violations and Public Nuisance

The police have warned against:

Bike rallies and vehicle processions

Overspeeding and stunt riding

Unnecessary honking

Blocking roads and intersections

Public consumption of alcohol

Fighting, disorderly conduct, or creating disturbances

Traffic and law enforcement personnel will be deployed across the city to monitor compliance and ensure smooth movement of vehicles.

Social Media Warning

Authorities have also urged citizens to act responsibly online. The circulation of rumours, provocative messages, hateful content, or posts targeting supporters of rival teams could invite legal action.

Police emphasized that sports celebrations should not become a reason for conflict and appealed to fans to respect supporters of all teams.

Focus on Safety

The advisory reflects the administration's efforts to prevent a repeat of last year's tragedy and maintain law and order during one of the biggest sporting events of the year.

Bengaluru Police concluded by reminding residents that ensuring public safety and peace is a shared responsibility and called upon cricket fans to celebrate the occasion with discipline and caution.
