Former Indian hockey player Ajitesh Roy is spearheading an ambitious effort to revive Bihar’s fading hockey legacy through the RK Roy Hockey Academy, established in Patna in 2018. The initiative was created to address a longstanding void in the state’s sporting ecosystem and develop players capable of representing India at the highest level. Since the formation of Jharkhand, Bihar has struggled to produce senior national hockey players, with Roy remaining the state’s lone representative in the Indian senior team.
